John Carr is the founder and director of the Initiative on Catholic Social Thought and Public Life at Georgetown University. Carr is also a member of the Steering Committee of the Circle of Protection. He previously served two decades as executive director of the Department of Justice, Peace, and Human Development of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops, as a Washington correspondent for America magazine, and as a fellow at Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government Institute of Politics.
