Senator Dick Durbin is a U.S. Senator from Illinois (Democrat) and assistant Majority Leader of the U.S. Senate. Durbin is a leader on U.S. and global hunger and poverty issues. He serves as Chairman of the Subcommittee on Financial Services and General Government of the Appropriations Committee and as Chairman of Subcommittee on the Constitution, Civil Rights, and Human Rights of the Judiciary Committee. He is member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and the Rules and Administration Committee. He is Roman Catholic.
