Proverbs is a book full of wisdom, instruction, and counsel for life. Proverbs 3:27, in particular, gives us the instruction: “Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in your power to act.” The writer of Proverbs recognizes a very human flaw: We often fail to do good for others, even though we have the ability to do it.

We frequently hear about issues like hunger and poverty around the world. However, we don’t always respond as we should. We forget or ignore the fact that we not only can do good, but that we must. Proverbs 3:27 is an important reminder in a society where it is sometimes too easy to remain passive. The verse reminds us that we have both the power and the responsibility to do our part.

Join us as we pray for:

  1. Countries with high poverty rates and weak agricultural systems, that they would establish a means to feed everyone within their borders.
  2. The Church, that we would be vessels of God’s hope and redemption through prayer, advocacy, and giving.
  3. Our nation’s legislators, that they would value and support those around the world seeking to feed themselves.
