He has nearly three decades of experience working to end hunger and poverty in the U.S. and around the world, most recently as President and CEO of Growing Hope Globally (formerly Foods Resource Bank). He has also served as director of the United Nation’s World Food Programme and inaugural director of the Alliance to End Hunger. Finberg has held positions with the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the Department of State, AmeriCorps VISTA, and the U.S. Congress. He is currently on the Baylor Collaborative on Hunger and Poverty’s board of advocates.
Finberg credits his Christian faith and small-town roots for his deep commitment to building community and relationships. He holds a master’s degree in religious studies from Howard University’s School of Divinity and a bachelor’s degree in political science and international relations from Tufts University.
