Representative Jim McGovern is U.S. Representative from Massachusetts (Democrat) currently serving his eleventh term in Congress. McGovern serves as the second-ranking Democrat on the House Rules Committee and as a member of the House Agriculture Committee, where he is Democratic Ranking Member of the Subcommittee on Nutrition. He is co-chair of the House Hunger Caucus and co-chair of the Tom Lantos Human Rights Commission. McGovern has taken a leadership role in the fight against hunger at home and abroad, successfully expanding the McGovern-Dole International Food for Education and Child Nutrition Program. McGovern is Roman Catholic.
