Bio:
The Rev. Fatima Yakubu-Madus is deacon at Christ Church Cathedral in the diocese of Indianapolis, where she is involved in building relationships with interfaith and non-faith-based organizations to transform systems of injustices.
She is a Bread for the World activist. She also partners and collaborates with Faith in Indiana, Poor People’s Campaign, Greater Indianapolis Multifaith Alliance, and Moms Demand Action to advocate for legislation changes to address racism, food insecurity, homelessness, immigration, gun violence, and mental health. Yakubu-Madus manages an ecumenical food pantry focused on serving the immigrant community in Indianapolis/Speedway areas which is projected to serve more than 20,000 individuals in 2024. She is the founder and president of Wecare Missions Inc, which conducts medical missions and provides free medical care to people in rural areas of Southern Nigeria.
Yakubu-Madus is a scientist by training and worked as a pharmacologist and operation consultant with Eli Lilly and Company for 27 years; she is published in peer reviewed journals and holds methods of use patents in the areas of diabetes and hypertension.
Yakubu-Madus was ordained in The Episcopal Church in 2010. Indianapolis, Indiana.
